Glass — one of the oldest material created by man. It is believed that glass invented about 5 thousand years ago. This is confirmed by archaeological finds, during which on the territory of Egypt, ancient Mesopotamia and Phoenicia glass products were found. The first glass vessels appeared in Egypt in the XVIII century BC.
To create products colored quartz glass is used. To get it melting and obeying the master hand, temperature of several thousand degrees is needed. Masters use the oxygen-gas burner. Flame temperature of burner exceeds 2000-2500 degrees, so they have to work in special dark glasses. Quartz glass hardens instantly, so the whole working process takes place in the burner flame.
- Master heats the tip of the glass rod into the burner flame and brings it to a plastic state.
- Glass crumbs for painting-pattern are needed, in which the warmed glass is lowered. Crumbs stick to glass, then the master again brings the rod to flame, melts the chips and, here is the pattern.
- Then we need to shape the glass. For this purpose, special tools-tweezers, needles, etc are needed. Every figurine is made entirely by hand. Thus, the size and color figures may vary from product to product.
- Then the finished products pass the secondary baking in special furnaces. This procedure is necessary the glass products were not cracked over time.
